If you’re searching for healthier, clearer skin, witch hazel is an easy answer and an all natural solution. Derived from the Witch Hazel plant, the leaves and bark produce an astringent that is used in many medicinal and herbal products. Essential Living’s witch hazel made from the twigs of USDA certified, non-GMO witch hazel, is alcohol free, and made in the United States.
One of the most appealing parts of witch hazel is it’s a ready-to-use product! There are no major recipes or tools needed to gain all the benefits of the toner. It’s safe to put directly onto a cotton ball, swab, or towel and place directly on your skin.
We know all too well the smell associated with Witch Hazel, and for many, the smell has outweighed the benefits. We are so excited to have created this product, pure Witch Hazel without the harsh smell. Since it’s alcohol free, it’s incredibly gentle on the skin, never overdrying. It soaks deep into the pores, clearing out debris such as environmental pollutants, dirt and makeup. It also has anti-bacterial properties to keep acne and blemishes at bay.
This toner is full of tannins, a natural anti-wrinkle treatment. These tannins also help to tighten bags under your eyes.
Thanks to its antibacterial properties, it brings relief for those suffering from eczema and psoriasis. It calms red, irritated skin and brings relief to dry, itchy skin.
Honesty in our Ingredients:
At Essential Living, it is a core value that we provide the information necessary for you to feel comfortable with any product that touches your skin and body. Because of that, we fully disclose all of the ingredients (there are only two) in our witch hazel toner, the testing specifications in place to ensure that every batch is perfectly clean and pure. The first of the two ingredients in our toner is 100% pure witch hazel distillate, made from the twigs of USDA certified non-GMO witch hazel. The second ingredient is Phenoxyethanol, a preservative that protects against bacteria contamination.
It is important to note, that many “all natural” witch hazel toners do not always clearly state that they use Parabens as a preserving agent in their witch hazel solution. Instead, many list Grape Seed Extract – without communicating that GSE contains the parabens used as a preservative. While all witch hazel requires a preservative to prevent the growth of bacteria and yeast once the bottle is open and exposed to the air or the bacteria of your skin, a Grape Seed Extract / Paraben laden preservative isn’t necessary. You can read more information about Grape Seed Extract from the Organic Consumers’ Association at: www.organicconsumers.org/news/truth-about-grapefruit-seed-extract.
DIY Recipe: Witch Hazel Makeup Remover
Even if you use organic and all natural make ups, facewash alone cannot remove the makeup from your pores. This is a great alternative to store bought make up removers.
Combine ingredients in amber glass bottle. Shake before each use. Apply makeup remover to cotton round and use to remove makeup before washing your face.
DIY Recipe: Witch Hazel Face Mask
Although there are many variations, we love the simplicity and results of this face mask. The Witch Hazel Toner is the secret ingredient that makes it incredibly effective.
Whisk egg until white and stiff. Add Witch Hazel toner and lemon juice. Apply to clean face. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
